It’s a good idea to sketch out a plan of where your balustrade will be placed, allowing you to easily determine what measurements need to be taken, and providing an easy to read diagram of where your measurements need to go.
Mark out where all your end and corner posts will be positioned. These should be marked at a distance of 75mm from the edge of your stairs or balcony.
Now add in where the mid-posts will go between the end and corner posts. These should be marked at intervals of about 1,000 – 1,200mm.
You now need to measure what the width of the glass panels to be installed will be. Measure between one post to the next for this measurement. You should then deduct 180mm from this measurement to leave enough room for the glass clamp, clearance and 21mm tube to be placed on each side.
Calculate the height you would like your balustrade to be. You can talk to one of our experienced advisors for more advise on the ideal height for your requirements.
